Building Regulations require you to make adequate provision to dispose of the storm and rain water from your home or commercial building. You cannot feed this surface water into storm drains if you could have a soakaway on your premises and this runoff water can never be passed into a foul drain unless the main system is a combined sewer.
You must conduct the surface water from your property away from the building and collect it in a soakaway. This soakaway then disperses the water into the soil at a rate which avoids any flooding. This is an environmentally friendly way of dealing with the rain and storm water as it replenishes groundwater.
If you are building a new property or extending a current property then you will may need to install a soakaway which adheres to the strict regulations for these installations. Drainflow Solutions can carry out an assessment for you which includes reviewing the soil filtration, the amount of rainfall likely to be conducted to the proposed soakaway via downpipes and gullies and a suitable location for the soakaway. This must be a sufficient distance from the building to avoid water damage to the foundations of the property. In addition to installing soakaways we can also repair and unblock existing soakaways and pipework leading to them.
Drainflow Solutions use British standard drain systems to construct soakaways and have a wealth of experience in these installations. We are highly trained to City and Guilds standards and all our work is fully guaranteed*. We have a reputation for quality workmanship reflected in our Checkatrade reviews.
